Remove PDF Pages
Take unwanted pages out of a PDF: type their numbers and download what is left. It all happens inside your browser, so the document never leaves your device.
Single pages and ranges, with commas between. 10- means page 10 to the end.
How to choose the pages
Type the numbers of the pages to take out, with commas between them: 2, 5-7 takes out page 2 and pages 5, 6 and 7. A range can be open at either end, so 10- takes out everything from page 10 on, and -3 the first three pages. The page counts the pages the way your PDF reader numbers them in its toolbar, starting from 1, which is not always the number printed on the page itself. Before you download, the list of pages that will stay is shown in the same short form, so you can check it.
The pages that stay are not touched
Every page that stays is copied exactly as it was: the same text, which you can still select and search, the same pictures, nothing compressed again. A link to a page you removed simply stops doing anything. The new file is usually smaller than the old one, by roughly the size of what you took out.
Why it matters that nothing is uploaded
Pages are usually taken out because they should not be seen: a page with an account number before a statement goes to a landlord, an annexure that is nobody else's business, a page of notes. This page does it inside your browser and saves the result straight to your device. Your PDF is never sent anywhere.
Frequently asked questions
Is the removed page really gone from the file?
Yes. The new PDF is built from the pages that stay and only the things they use, so the text and pictures of a removed page are not in it, even in a file where every page shares one list of pictures. The one exception: if a page that stays is itself too damaged to read, nothing it might need is dropped, and a picture it shares with a removed page can remain inside the file.
Which page numbers do I type?
The position of the page in the file, counting from 1 at the front, as your PDF reader shows it in its toolbar. A document whose printed numbers start after a cover page will be off by one or two.
What happens to bookmarks and fillable forms?
Bookmarks belong to the whole document and are not carried over. Forms keep what was typed in them, but their boxes can no longer be filled in.
Can I remove pages from a password-protected PDF?
No, its pages are encrypted. If you know the password, open the file in your PDF reader, save a copy without protection, and use that copy here.
Can I take out every page?
No: a PDF needs at least one page, so at least one has to stay.
Is my PDF uploaded?
No. The PDF is read and rebuilt by JavaScript inside your own browser, and the result is saved straight to your device. Nothing is uploaded and nothing is stored - close the tab and it is gone.
